From Orlando to Denver, the SpotOn team was busy over the last week, attending both the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show and the Colorado Restaurant & Bar Show. Here’s a quick recap of the great people we met, plus the amazing, food, products, and new restaurant innovations we encountered.
The trip kicked off in Orlando, Florida at the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show, hosted by the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FLRA). Our team got the opportunity to meet with numerous local restaurateurs and showcase SpotOn Restaurant, our best-in-class point-of-sale system for the food & beverage industry, but that was just the start.
We were also able to spend time with the crew at Gordon Food Service and experience some of their live cooking demos, featuring dry-aged steak, wild mushrooms, and eggs on eggs. It was a delectable experience, and we look forward to seeing (and tasting!) more at the Gordon Food Service Show stop in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 9th for a day of food, education, and entertainment. If you can't make it to Charlotte show, they have additional shows across the nation. Check out their calendar here for a list of all their slated shows in 2019.
The Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show show also featured a Product Showcase with a sweet trend in the coffee marketplace. One of our favorites was NoiCafe, which was serving up espresso in their innovative edible cookie cups, while also creating custom latte designs.
That was only the tip of the iceberg, of course, and it was a pleasure to meet so many great people, including the crew from Norwoods Treehouse Eatery & Bar and Ubereats, who stopped by our booth for some fun photo ops!
After finishing up in Florida, the SpotOn team set off for Denver with a quick turnaround to prepare for the Colorado Restaurant & Bar Show. Day one in Colorado kicked off with some special guests from Blake Street Tavern, which is located one block North of Coors Field, home to the Colorado Rockies, making this poppin’ hangout Denver’s Best Sports Bar.
Making a splash at the food show was Genuine Broaster Chicken. Unlike other fried chicken options, this recipe is cooked in a pressure fryer, giving it a flavor chicken lovers crave. Who doesn’t love a good drumstick, right? Restaurants looking to add Broaster to their menu can find them at Front Range Wholesale.
While in Colorado, SpotOn co-founder Zach Hyman was able to visit the show and connect with the team. “It's been a great experience for me to see our SpotOn team hard at work in an environment they thrive in," Hyman said afterward. "As we continue to attend hospitality and restaurant shows across the nation, the restaurant community is really getting an opportunity to see the strengths in our product. Our competition has created some excellent POS systems, but that's just the beginning with SpotOn. We offer a best-in-class POS for restaurants and bars that also includes marketing, loyalty, payroll, review management, web development, and so much more.”
