POSITION PURPOSE
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for various payroll-related tasks, including preparing payroll audits, creating reports, ensuring regulatory and legal compliance, and advising the payroll department on complex transactions. You may also coordinate with other departments such as human resources and finance and communicate any payroll changes to employees. This role may also assist with some onboarding and offboarding processes and other HR service requests such as employment verifications. This position is located in our San Francisco office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Review payroll data and documents for inefficiencies and errors, checking whether all amounts are accurate based on employment records
- Turn information from a variety of sources into meaningful and manageable data
- Assist with generating HRIS reports and audits as needed
- Develop and advise management on recommendations for process improvements
- Verification of Employment and similar requests

Assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to compensation
- Demonstrated expertise with MS Office and Google applications, including spreadsheets and presentations, and collaboration tools
- Demonstrated sense of urgency and client-centric approach to work
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to spot numerical errors
- Familiarity with HRIS systems
- Familiarity with full-cycle talent acquisition processes

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years in an HR or Payroll functional role

1+ years of full-cycle talent acquisition experience preferred
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree; will consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree

High School diploma
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position a minimum of 50% of the workday
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Occasionally lifts and carries equipment or packages in the office weighing up to 20 pounds
